People need to be aware that electric compressor stations (like the Arlington one pictured here on google earth that is south of Pump It Up/Cheer Texas) has periodic planned emission events called blowdowns. They also have unplanned events too like if the electricity goes out or if any of the equipment malfunctions which can cause an upset. Everybody should protest urban drilling and the compressor stations near innocent children and in neighborhoods.

TCEQ took a 30 min suma canister air sample downwind from the Arlington compressor Station and found 2.3 ppb Benzene last March on ACL# 1203037. That exceeds the longterm Effect Screening Level of 1.41 parts per billion…but hey the state doesn’t care until you go decades of continuous ESL exceedances past 1.41 longterm and you have to hit 180 ppb for short term-8 hour exposures..and they surely don’t have any parts per trillion endocrine disruption concerns do they?

At 45 minutes into this City of Arlington meeting video….

it shows how easy it is to approve a compressor station less than 900 feet from a school and downwind to a densly populated neighborhood.

Last February I posted this blog about Camp Thurman getting more than just a new swimming pool….

When will this madness stop? I fear only when it is too late and the cancer clusters are already set in.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
