Dallas Frack Attack – two health effect accounts of Barnett Shale dwellers

First story is of a Ft Worth resident living (slowly dying?) near the Goforth Processing Plant (also called Crosstex) who started her conversation with me asking if my son’s rash looked anything like what she showed me on her neck and face…so then I got to get the rest on tape about her dog’s health effects with going blind.

The second is at lunch with a Flower Mound mom of a teenage daughter…just knowing that they had to live in a hotel for months was beyond words.

I keep coming back to ranting…

“Those who R healthy in the shale get sick,

those who were sick get sicker or die quicker, and

those now dead R free from the dread in

LIVING in this BarnettShaleHell.”

The Marcellus ShaleReporter notes…

“Radium gets into the body either by consumption or inhalation, the EPA says. …

…Radium can cause anemia, cataracts and increased broken teeth and cavities, as well as increased instances of bone, liver and breast cancer. The EPA classifies both radon gas and radium as “potent human carcinogens,” and also says that long-term exposure to radium increases the risk for lymphoma, bone cancer, leukemia and aplastic anemia.”

But what about the Barnett Shale radiation levelsRead here to be literally mortified….

“ The (Barnett Shale) analysis confirmed the presence of alpha, beta, and gamma radiation in the soil and water that was tested. The gamma-emitting radionuclides identified exceeded regulatory guideline values by more than 800 percent. According to the paper’s authors, the active pit was overflowing into a neighboring stream.”

Let me finish this blog with a hot new song and a fracking video to match called “Radioactive/Welcome to the New Age”.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
