Response to #Milford explosion

Nov 15, 2013 update… yet another drilling related accident near Milford TX which is south of the DFW area. Folks in Grand Prairie are reporting they can see the smoke. Here is the wind plume map…..

IN RESPONSE to the MILFORD explosion………
It is up to the public to put pressure on their local, state and federal government to get off of these fossil fuels and onto renewables…our future counts on YOU!
Buy solar panels, use less, & reuse items.  Where our dollars are spent will ultimately be what moves us off of deadly fuels…spend wisely.

Lets talk about these drill sites and pipelines strung all over the good state of Texas….Here is a THIRD incident to report on a storage tank explosion….poor boys riding longboards ran away as fas as they could.

How does Arlington STOP future build out when natural gas prices go backup? DENY DRILL ZONE Special Use Permits (SUP). Some sites have already been approved (like the one by the Cowboys Stadium), but the majority has not come before council for approval since we have a lull in dry gas drilling here.

Our new and “industry improved” Gas Drilling Ordinance calls for a new SUP that allows for a “drilling zone” to be approved for each existing and future padsite. Once the first well on that new SUP is approved, then the rest of the planned wells within that drilling zone will be ADMINISTRATIVELY APPROVED so that they don’t even go to the agenda items for discussion. YEP they killed public comment on gas well items in Arlington didn’t they?

Carrizo has had two emission events at one drill site in Arlington last spring…there was no media coverage of any of that ….surprised?

Subject: tremor-casing damage / well control issue with Carrizo…evacuated a few homes,

Dear Firechief Crowson,

While these two recent events were NOT in the Barnett Shale, please be aware that it CAN happen here…near people…so we HAVE to halt any new build out at least on the drill sites where the 600 ft setback has been violated.

“The events leading to the rebuke began when casing of a well drilled at the Preese Hall site was damaged by an earthquake caused by its drilling on 1 April 2011. The deformation in the well was discovered in routine investigations a few days later. Deformation of well casings can be serious, causing gas or fracking fluids – water and chemicals – to leak. In this case the integrity of the well was not compromised and there were no leaks or danger of contamination. Cuadrilla suspended its fracking operations a few weeks later after a further small tremor, and instigated an investigation in order to eliminate any further risk. “

In a follow up TV report “malfunction in a wellhead drill”…(wording here) that doesn’t make sense because drilling was first, then they frack then they flowback, so if uncontrolled flowback started while still fracking, still “wellhead drill” has nothing to do with this in my opinion.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
