Here is another letter I’m sharing ….giving the frackers tax breaks-breaks my heart.
Please have your accountant ask the Tarrant County Appraisal District to lower your tax values on those properties in Arlington TX on Bardin Greene. You have good reasons in my opinion to ask them because folks prefer NOT to live so close to industrial drill sites. The media is reporting more frequently of unknown health risks of these mini-gas refineries. Also if you do a property value search, you’ll see that they are giving the drillers a tax break, so why not give a tax break to those investors that have to own property near these risky gas complexes?
Example TAD record # 04083962 has a drill site on the property (near Bowie Highschool) and is coded as having farmland/agricultural exemption status. The tax value over the last 5 years has dropped -16%, where as Texas Instruments in the area has grown one half of a percent.
Even where there is no padsite, land that is owned by the gas industry, DFW Midstreams TAD#07899017 (see below), is coded as undeveloped/commerical/vacant and has received a 25% tax relief (property value loss).
Please do your own homework, but don’t let them get away with overcharging you taxes when your residents will be getting all the risk near harmful, invisible drill site emissions off of those storage tanks.
