IMG_0413Update save the date…. Here is an Arlington Parks Dept announcement…

“The long-awaited dedication ceremony for the Southwest Nature Preserve has officially been set. The preserve will be publicly dedicated on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at a time soon to be determined.

A number of events are planned for the dedication including park tours, fishing, geocaching demonstrations as well as free food. Hot dogs, chips and refreshments will be available to all in attendance.

The nature preserve has been open to the public for a number of years but it was virtually undeveloped with rudimentary trails and no parking. Improvements to the park include a boardwalk into a pond for fishing, small amphitheater for educational programming, new parking accommodations, and picnic areas. The preserve’s gates are currently open from 5:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., at 5201 Bowman Springs Road. Activities such as camping, camp fires, horseback riding, mountain bike riding, swimming, and boating are all prohibited.”

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
