Diane Patrick House of Representative focused on school issues NOT related to fracking near students

Update Jan 2014….One of the things I complained to Patrick on which I feel she was instrumental in helpings with was that our city gas well website NOW includes gas well incident reports albeit only for those with violations found which weeds out the majority of dispatch events. Oh well.
Update September 4 still no Chesapeake contact info….never knew when or if they ever flowed back the 4th gaswell that was fracked the first week in August…I was told that they may NOT flow it back depending on the “pressure”…never heard of NOT flowing back a well.
Update Aug 30 2013..Got a call back from Rep Dine Patricks office that in speaking to City Planner, Jim Parajon, that the city is not “privy” to flowback dates.  They will work to get me a Chesapeake contact phone number. Why didn’t Jim Parajon just admit in this video that he did NOT KNOW this info…worse yet is why doesn’t the city care to GET this info if the public wants it and needs it to feel safer near drilling in their neighborhoods?
Update….. I met with Representative Patrick and found that she writes legislation that is regarding education and I asked if she was concerned with fracking near the schools and she was interested in any if it related that any schools were allowed any closer than the 600 ft setback…..I wonder who said 600 feet was a safe distance?

(read “The list of the Harmed”)… Urban drilling consists of drillers using outdated, rural methods which is not protective to public health. In January when Chesapeake was finishing the wells by the Cowboys Stadium, my teen was getting rashes and my husband’s lymph nodes were swelling…he now has cancer and my teen tests positive for an adrenal tumor biomarker. And now I have my own thryoid and adrenal issues.
As it is we’ve been downwind to GM and UTA’s gaswells for about 6 years.  We need laws to demand…
1) diesel-less engines on surface equipment rigs/compressors/trucks for preproduction phases
2) no silicia dust can fly off the padsite and ban the use of uranium to perf detonations
3) they have  to flowback right away- don’t let the well sour and they need to use pressurized tanks (ventless) for  flowback
4) they need to use vapor recovery systems on storage tanks
5) the compressor blowdowns (start up/shutdown) should not be allowed to vent- they must direct whats stuck in the lines to the storage tanks that are equipped with vapor recovery systems…for thedehydrators, they need to use the BTEX Eliminator equipment .
We would do good to force the plug and abandonment of all the existing unconventional wells after their “one” stellar year of production….it was so misleading to tell us these wells would “produce” (note sarcasm) for 20-30 years.

Brian, please contact the company that will be doing the flowback and ask them to use the pressurized, ventless flowback tanks for the Cowboy Stadium/Truman drill site.
Using the old school (rural) open hatch flowback tanks is unacceptable for urban drilling. Even though Chesapeake plans to use Green Completions equipment after the pipeline is in, it is risky to our air quality from the time of the onset of flowback, until the gas is saleable that hydrocarbons are allowed to vent to the atmosphere in my neighborhood and near my family…this is urban drilling and Chesapeake needs to set better standards for the early flowback phase.
Please let me know if you have any questions…the TCEQ cannot help me.  I have a petition that might explain this a different way….

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
