Our City Attorney said “there is a realization that the presence of weapons has a chilling effect on citizens’ willingness to attend and participate in the public meeting process.”
Council is afraid for their own fracking lives from the life changing decisions they make in those chambers. They care zip about what the public thinks or what they have to say….heaven forbid too many people will come out and speak for a whole two minutes each and keep old Clucker up past his bed time….our council got a taste of power with shoving the gas wells in our backyards …..they kissed that girl and they liked it……they will stop at nothing in trampling our rights...this is a huge wake up call…folks!
Three agenda items were approved last night…
1) The drought contingency plan (which was due for its five year review) makes residents address when they fill their pools, that they fix their leaks etc. to the point that their water can be turned off but not the drillers...they get a variance request to continue to fill their frack pools and frack ponds! That drought plan vote is not final so please come out an oppose it in its present form at the next meeting.
2) Arlington council squashed The First Amendment/freedom of speech to hand out pamphlets to people in their vehicles.
3) And Arlington council squashed The second amendment/to bear arms (in City Hall meetings).
The audacity of Councilman Parker to use Home Rule to suit their “safety” decision when they used Home Rule for Special Use Permits to drill in residential areas for a monentary advantage for the city at the expense of the citizen’s health and property values when no health, property, and environmental impact study was conducted first. At the end of the meeting in the UNTELEVISED portion called Citizen Participation, I had the pleasure to remind Mayor Cluck how he turned off my mic in the middle of the Parr story and how they have been in litigation here in Dallas….I’m sure they found out today that they won $2.9 million….I reminded council that I have published every letter on my blog that I have sent to them as evidence to anyone wanting to sue that our town was reckless in allowing Urban Drilling-let the law suits begin!
I also spoke on how the “Keep Moving” rule on side walks hampers freedom of speech too and how Clucko has tried to limit the CONTENT of my speech. I ran out of time and didn’t get to address how they tried to charge me $140 to query the gas well accidents…so I never got that info which says alot for transparency issues in Arlington too.
Freedom of speech in Arlington in the chambers and on the streets and sidewalks has been kissed away by Home Rule Hungry Shiney Asked Hogs.
