map of where NOT to live

This photo by Suzanne Bobosky sustinctly shows where NOT to live…even if you were there first.

Based on this link.. , it easier to show you which areas are NOT drilling. While there is one well in Idaho, currently the rest of these places are said to have no wells …..

Dist of Columbia,

New Hampshire,

New Jersey, or

Rhode Island…

And even if you do live in an area where they are not drilling, you still need to find out where these places source their water….I was surprised to learn that Austin gets its “drinking water from two water treatment plants that pump surface water from the Colorado River as it flows into Lake Austin.”

I learned from a commenter and this Mens Journal article, “Who Stole the Water”, that this is not the same Colorado river that sources out of Colorado where there is fracking. So do try to see where your water originates from and if they flow through fracked areas.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog. Um, the Colorado River in Texas does not run through Colorado. It’s solely within the borders of Texas. The “other Colorado River”, that runs through the Grand Canyon, begins in Colorado. Two completely different rivers. FYI.
