2/13/2015 India Times report Ebola can live in a corpse up to seven days.

1/22/15 Multi-states in India affected by Congo Fever and deaths have occurred…so like Ebola, should be prevented and feared….maybe that is what killed our Killeen TX Ft Hood soldier?…funny there is no update.

1/7/15  Nurse Pauline remains critical  improving in Scotland-praying.

1/2/15 Unconfirmed ISIS Ebola outbreak in Mosul, a city 250 miles north of Baghdad.

12/30/14 Nurse Pauline Cafferkey (heres her diary), who recently worked in Sierra Leone, is in isolation in Scotland and to be was transported to the Royal Free Hospital in London. She is the UK‘s first Ebola case”(has she tested positive?  YES). She arrived at Glasgow airport having first traveled through Casablanca and London. Pray that others were not infected. BBC on twitter reported that 45 of 133 fellow air travelers were on the same connecting flights. It was reported that she was nonsympomatic when she first boarded at Heathrow airport.

Cafferkey was mentioned in these unconfirmed comments

“According to other media reports, this nurse was concerned that she already had a high temperature at LHR and was checked several times.

Telegraph: “The nurse was tested in total seven times after landed at Heathrow airport within the space of two hours – once as part of a routine screening, and six more times after complaining of a high temperature around an hour later.”

Although the risk is very tiny, it’s obviously slightly more than zero. Given that Ebola is a disease with a high fatality rate and no proven cure, the nurse’s own concerns should have been enough to stop her flying from London to Glasgow. Within 24 hours she was making the return journey anyway on a military aircraft!”

11/23/14 Mali update ..

Sunday, 23 November, 2014 at 06:03 UTC
Mali on Saturday confirmed a new case of Ebola and said two more suspected patients are being tested, raising concern about a further spread of the disease,

11/21/14  Doctor has died in Mail bringing death toll there to five..oil producing region

11/18/14 Mali on HIGH ALERT upon confirmation of 5th case…this is near oil production facilities.(*see Oct notes)…a male nurse died (two other healthcare workers showing symptoms) and those of his contacts from the Bamako hospital said to  number 1,000 to be monitored and isolated.

This article says

“Dr. Cyril Broderick, A Liberian scientist and a former professor of Plant Pathology at the University of Liberia’s College of Agriculture and Forestry says the West, particularly the U.S. is responsible for the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.”

While this article speaks of two Russian lab related Ebola deaths, one in 1996 and one in 2004.

But then again it is said to have been here back in the times of the Athens Plague.

Regardless of biological warfare or natural events, Ebola can threaten oil supplies in oil producing areas…yet another reason to go to renewables cause they do not constantly need to be mined, replenished.

11/16/14  Surgeon being treated in Nebraska in extremely critical condition has died .

11/10/14  Northern Ireland “a man is being tested there for the deadly Ebola virus. Many voiced support for and tough screening measures after news that the man, who is believed to have recently returned from west Africa, also has malaria and is being kept in a special isolation unit.”

11/3/14  LONDON woman with fever who traveled recently to Africia is being tested is negative

11/2/14 N Carolina man being tested in Durham. He recently returned from Liberia and now has a fever…. NEGATIVE

11/2/14 Milwaukie woman tests NEGATIVE

11/1/14 A Vietnamese guest worker returning from Guinea, an Ebola affected region, has Malaria and is being tested for Ebola…. NEGATIVE

11/1/14 SUDAN -Kalma camp, South Darfur three women die from UNDIAGNOSED bleeding disease-not known if Malaria or Ebola.

10/30/14  Chicago journalist, Marcus DiPaola, is being monitored (recently traveled from Liberia).

10/29/14 Two die from bleeding, fever in West Kordofan -oil workers encouraged to practice hygiene.

Most of the proved oil (and Natural gas) reserves are in the (Sudan) Muglad & Melut Basins. China, the export destination for most of Sudan and South Sudan oil, could be impacted as malaria (not Ebola…YET) takes hold in the central Africa area….this (bleeding disease) trend could keep traveling westwardly and affect other oil producing states. Bleeding out could end up devastating world oil supplies which could increase demand for US shale oil to be exported…mother nature is FINDING a way to get us off of fossil fuels and off her planet. Going green in America would be (again) side tracked if world demand for US shale oil results from our oil producing competitors going (blood) red.

10/27/14 5 yr old from Bronx (traveled from Africa) being Ebola tested NEGATIVE.

10/25/14 Female health care worker is first under airplane quarantine policy and has developed a fever and is being evaluated at University Hospital in Newark for the possibility of Ebola.

*10/24/14 Mali confirmed its first case of Ebola on Thursday, becoming the sixth West African country

10/23/14 Recent visiting doctor,Craig Spencer, returned home from Guinea to New York City has Ebola. He traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley, and then took a taxi home. Thursday he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital Center and is now in isolation.

10/22/14 Newark man not showing symptoms of Ebola

10/21/14  Liberian man w/fever at Newark airport being detained …

“The five airports include Newark and JFK in New York, as well as Washington Dulles, Atlanta and Chicago. They currently account for about 94 percent of air passengers traveling to the United States from Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea.”

Fever screenings are to occur at certain airports for people from affected areas but heres my loophole concern….

Subject: what if they take 3 tylenol first to pass fever scan at airports?
Dear Dept. of Homeland Security,
Those that fit the risk group should be made to wait in a room after pat down to make sure they aren’t popping Tylenol to keep fever low to pass fever screenings…let me know if that has been addressed, thanks.

10/18/14   WFAA reports DALLAS — A DART customer/woman turned out NOT to be living near the Ivy apartments  and NOT on the monitor list of people.

A spider bite may explain why she had a low grade fever – but it was spitting on the platform that got people’s attention-geeszh.

10/17/14  Read here of first hand account of reporter getting exposed and thinking she had Ebola. She went to Presby ER and verifys the Ebola unreadiness of nurses. (hospital originally turned her down)

10/16/14 Belize Confirms Patient (possibly two-said to be a Dallas nurse & her husband/partner) With Ebola Symptoms On Houston based Cruise Ship (Carnival Magic) Off Its Coast ”   The ship is reportedly carrying 3652 passengers and a total population of 4633 persons.

NBCDFW reported on Carnival’s full statement:
Late afternoon on Wednesday, Oct. 15., we were made aware by the U.S. CDC of a guest sailing this week on board Carnival Magic who is a lab supervisor at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. At no point in time has the individual exhibited any symptoms or signs of infection and it has been 19 days since she was in the lab with the testing samples. She is deemed by CDC to be very low risk. At this time, the guest remains in isolation on board the ship and is not deemed to be a risk to any guests or crew. It is important to reiterate that the individual has no symptoms and has been isolated in an extreme abundance of caution. We are in close contact with the CDC and at this time it has been determined that the appropriate course of action is to simply keep the guest in isolation on board.

I  called the cruise ship company after midnight last night and they said they haven’t made any formal announcement…the rep said they don’t allow anyone who is within a 21 day risk group but they cannot make people tell the truth. This report tells of how the US calls this passenger a low risk for Ebola.

Ellen Bryan ‏@EllenBryanNBC5 twiter feed of State mandate sent (10/16/14) to 75 employees who cared for Duncan. Outlines travel restictions, etc. @NBCDFW

Judge Cay Jenkins on WFAA said this morning that the reason the nurses were left off the first round of “do not travel lists” was because it was ASSumed that they were in a low risk catagory because they wore protection equipment… that was a big assumption since Dr Brantly also ware the garb and caught it and didn’t know how he caught it.

10/16/14 Lubbock TX man isolated but why is he not being tested? He traveled from west Africa’s Ivory Coast. Bloomberg reported...”Ivory Coast is on a list of 13 countries that the World Health Organization urged last week to be prepared for cases of the Ebola virus to ensure the epidemic doesn’t spread further.”

The two Presby nurses have been sent out of state to isolation geared containment centers in Maryland and in Atlanta.

10/15/14 An employee, Jason Krause, is in a 21-day quarantine after returning from Liberia where he was on an safety mission:

10/15/14 2nd Presby female healthcare worker, Amber Vinson age 29, diagnosed. She will be transported to Emory.

“CDC says Vinson was a passenger on Frontier Airlines Flight 1143, which flew from Cleveland to Dallas-Fort Worth on Monday — the day before she reported symptoms.” DFW CBS Local reported “The plane was used for five additional flights on Tuesday before it was removed from service. Those flights include a return flight to Cleveland, Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL), FLL to Cleveland, Cleveland to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and ATL to Cleveland.”

My live conf notes from this morning are….

  • She lived alone w/no pets
  • 75 healthcare workers being monitored can go into isolation being provided if choose to.
  • Presby can care for up to one more #ebola patient
  • At yesterday’s conference there was mention of the blood drawn from Duncan went via regular route that blood tubes goes by to get to the lab.

10/13/14  TMZ reports NBC crew in quarantine (10/6/14) entry violated 21 day -under house arrest now.

Speaking of house arrest, why is #Dallas niece and her family (that had direct contact w/Duncan) see jounal entry below of 10/10 NOT under mandatory house arrest? From what I’ve read there are only four people related to the Duncan case that are under house arrest…

1) Fiancee, Louise Troh

2) Troh’s 13 year old son, Tomothy Wayne

3) Duncan’ 20 year old cousin

4) ? Is it Eric’s son who lives in Boston, Kasiah Eric Duncan?

10/12/14 8pm Braintree, Massachusetts man at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center being evaluated for Ebola. He recently traveled from Liberia. This report states that he doesn’t fit the profile to be a high risk.

10/12/14  LAX airport has a passenger from JFK airport….she came from Africa, but not west Africa and is said to have a history with puking on flights…so is no risk.

10/12/14 Dallas nurse tested positive who cared for Duncan. She was running low grade fever Fri night, 10/10/14,and transported herself to hospital.

10/11/14 14 yr old teen lied about health and traveled from Sudan to Brooklyn-is in isolation being tested. UPDATE…“Doctors had ruled out Ebola early Saturday, according to an NYPD spokesman, but neither the FDNY nor the city’s Office of Emergency Management could confirm these findings. Hospital officials did not return calls.”

10/11/14 shocking quote here…“Now ISIS has declared it will wage “Ebola jihad” against America by purposely infecting people, then flying them into our country. They certainly have the capacity to do this, and to do it without being detected.”  My response to this is that anything is possible..the US has an Ebola patent so we could also be justly accused.

10/10/14 DallasIn trying to verify if indeed the CDC released Youngor Jallah, (Duncan’s fiancee’s, Troh’s, daughter), and probably Younger’s husband, Aaron, (one or both are healthcare workers) to be allowed to return to work, reported the Washington Post.

Re: Mawhen Jallah, one of Troh’s daughters….

“Although CDC officials have cleared her, saying it is unlikely she contracted Ebola when she visited her mother’s apartment last week to welcome the man she calls her stepfather, she said she has been shunned.

Jallah said she did not touch Duncan when she greeted him. She said he was sitting in a chair as she said hello from the door of her mother’s bedroom….

Troh’s other daughter, Youngor Jallah, 35, who cared for Duncan before calling the ambulance to get him, was told Sunday by CDC officials that she no longer has to isolate herself and her family.

‘They came today to say it is okay if I want to go out,’ she said.”

NO NO NO I say…..I’ve read stories about an infected blanket… Youngor Jallah (a hero) tended to Duncan and went to Walmart to buy him a warmer blanket, then noticed red eyes, low blood pressure, and a fever and then called 911. UPDATE …THE WASHINGTON POST reported  “Jallah placed the blanket she had bought back (after bringing it to the hospital) on her mother’s bed, sprayed disinfectant throughout the apartment and sprinkled liquid Clorox on the furniture”.  Anybody know if Duncan’s relatives are back to work before the quarantine time frame is up?

10/10/14 …update tested NEGATIVE for Ebola …”Macedonian health ministry official said a hotel in Skopje had been quarantined with people inside after a British man died there after exhibiting Ebola symptoms. A friend of the Briton, who died of Ebola earlier today in Skopje, was admitted at hospital with symptoms of the disease.”...alcohol poisoning..oops.

10/10/14 Brazilian man (who recently traveled from Africia) being monitored -jus fever-no other symptoms. I ask…was he exposed, could he be a carrier, and what about false negative test results? #tooparanoid

10/9/14  Nurse, 57, isolated in hospital in Cairns, Australia, with suspected ebola after returning from Sierra Leone. update tested NEGATIVE

10/9/14  NYC hosp released #ebola suspect but no mention of actual Ebola test performed..need more info.-takes up to 48 hours to get results.

Above video the man being interviewed is said to be the Dallas Sheriff Fraternal Order of Police, Scott Guiselman.

10/8/14  The three being watched (tested?) I heard are…

1) Deputy Michael Monnig update… tested NEGATIVE  (1/2 hour in the apartment before decontamination)

2) Another person that accompanied the deputy (probably another policeman)

3) The person (deputy?) driving the vehicle

Why won’t the mainstream media replay this CNN clip? I’m upset and so  will post this pic of FEMA coffins cause at this time it seems appropriate to relate the two..

10/8/14 Duncan died this morning at 7:51 am.

NewsWest 9

“After full medical and physical evaluation, it has been determined by medical staff and CDC officials that the patient transferred from Midland International Airport due to illness early Wednesday morning, does not have the Ebola virus. As a reminder, the 2 primary cues that would suggest the potential for this virus are a fever at or above 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit and recent travel to an endemic area where several Ebola cases have been confirmed. Over the course of this event, the patient in question never had a fever nor have they traveled to or from an endemic region.”

10/7/14 CNN reports 3 more people in addition to nurse from Madrid under quarantine. The nurse’s husband is included in the three new people. The nurse’s dog contracted may contract Ebola and spread it, so the animal may be has been put down.

10/7/14    unconfirmed….Dallas relative, (heroic) Youngor Jallah,  who was said to have cared for Duncan (and brought her two young children to the apt) was rumored that the CDC called her to give the all clear to g to work in the healthcare field. Her family lives a mile from the IVY apts and is under voluntary confinement.

10/6/14 World News reports….that Nebraska is treating an Ebola infected videographer who thinks he was splashed while spray washing a car was being cleaned where an infected, deceased person was. Banoosh reports that the CDC says…

“If a symptomatic patient with Ebola coughs or

sneezes on someone, and saliva or mucus come into

contact with that person’s eyes, nose or mouth,

these fluids may transmit the disease.

Ebola on dried on surfaces such as

doorknobs and counter tops can survive for several hours;

however, virus in body fluids (such as blood) can survive

up to several days at room temperature.”

10/6/14 Missionary with Ebola was flown for medical treatment to Madrid, dies and infects nurse….the first health worker to contract virus outside of Africa.

10/2/14 12:50  I was watching WFAA aerial view of   two   men   without   protective   gear   pressure   washing   and  possibly   aerosolizing   the   virus. Reuters earlier reported “He was last seen by neighbors in the parking lot vomiting on the street.”..either way what about the run off?…here is the tweet….

Here is my WFAA pic..

10/2/14 “The Dallas Fire Department left the ambulance that transported Ebola patient Thomas Duncan to the hospital in service for at least 48 hours before putting it in quarantine on Wednesday.”

10/2/14 The New York Times reports that Duncan was exposed possibly on September 15 (before coming to the US) in helping a pregnant woman catch a taxi to a hospital when she couldn’t get an ambulance. He, along with the woman’s brother and father carried her back to the living quarters they shared as he was tenant in her parent’s home. Both he and the pregnant woman’s brother who helped carry her are said to have become sick around the same time. Duncan carried her by holding her legs, her father held her shoulders, and the brother, who has since died, supported her back.

The hairless ape with opposable thumbs – that once showed so much potential – has instead become an out of control, barbaric and ecocidal beast with barely more sentience of its environmental constraints than yeast on sugar. Unless we come together now as one human family and change fast – by cutting emissions, protecting ecosystems, having fewer kids, demobilizing our militaries, investing in health and education, and embracing agro-ecology – we face biosphere collapse and the end of being…….50% of Earth’s wildlife has died (in fact been murdered) in the last 40 years “

9/29/14 in TEXAS USA….Dallas Presby sent home Ebola patient who came back and tested positive.  Here is chain of events as reported by FOX…. “The patient, who was in the U.S. visiting family in Texas, initially sought care on September 26, but was sent home and was not admitted until two days later”. Another source said the male patient is not a healthcare worker and “Dr. Frieden said the family and community contacts were few, no more than a handful. But he said it was possible that family members who were with the man while he was ill would turn out to be infected.

9/19 left Liberia asymptomatic

Then it flipped again to the still surprised WFAA reporter and flipped back to Emory where Brantly’s statement was again replayed one last time for a total of three times… “I serve a faithful God who answers prayers”. Then the station flipped back to the WFAA newscaster who then explained they were having technical difficulties with the live broadcast. So I BELIEVE that God was telling us something we really need to hear these days!–272166751.html August 20

Area: North-America Country: USA State/County: State of California City: SacramentoDescription: A person who may have been exposed to the Ebola virus was checked into Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center, health officials said Tuesday. Hospital officials alerted the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services, and department officials said they are in touch with the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC will test a blood sample drawn at the hospital to detect whether the Ebola virus is present. Results are expected in a few days, according to county officials. “In order to protect our patients, staff and physicians, even though infection with the virus is unconfirmed, we are taking the actions recommended by the CDC as a precaution, just as we do for other patients with a suspected infectious disease,” said Dr. Stephen Parodi, an infectious disease specialist at Kaiser Permanente North California. “This includes isolation of the patient in a specially equipped negative pressure room and the use of personal protective equipment by trained staff, coordinated with infectious disease specialists,” he said. Kaiser would not comment on when the patient – it’s unknown if they are male or female – was admitted to the hospital or where if they might have traveled recently to West Africa, where an Ebola outbreak has killed more than 1,100 people. Not confirmed information! After four people shared a traditional Yupik meal of the fish heads, one later died and two others were sickened, said Louisa Castrodale, a health division epidemiologist. The man who died had apparently complained of seeing double and feeling ill, according to a state troopers report. State officials were testing food samples and samples from the two sickened individuals for the botulinum toxin, with results expected to take about a week, Castrodale said. If the death is confirmed to have been caused by botulism, she said it would be the first such death in Alaska since 2007. Botulism is 836 times more common in Alaska than in the Lower 48, according to a 2011 article, which speculates that the reason stems from today’s use of anaerobic glass and plastic containers to age fish instead of the traditional grass, straw or animal skin bags that were previously used. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention calls botulism a “rare but serious paralytic illness caused by a nerve toxin ….” There are five main kinds of botulism and all forms can be fatal and are considered medical emergencies, CDC says, adding, “Foodborne botulism is a public health emergency because many people can be poisoned by eating a contaminated food.”Not confirmed information! Doctors assure that the utmost precautions will be taken to make sure the disease does not spread during treatment. The patients will be kept in an isolation ward behind several airlocks, and doctors and nurses will wear body suits with their own oxygen supplies that will be burned every three hours. German authorities were expecting the arrival of Sheik Umar Khan, an Ebola expert who caught the disease while treating patients in Sierra Leone, but he died before he could be transported. “We were actually anticipating the patient’s arrival over the weekend,” Dr. Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit, head of the viral diagnostic unit at Hamburg’s Bernhard-Nocht-Institute, told German public broadcaster NDR.

An elderly Spanish missionary infected with the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia landed in Madrid on Thursday (Aug 7), the first patient in the fast-spreading outbreak to be evacuated to Europe for treatment. A specially equipped military Airbus A310 carrying 75-year-old Roman Catholic priest Miguel Pajares landed at the Spanish capital’s Torrejon air base at 8:15am (0615 GMT), the Defence Ministry said. The priest tested positive for Ebola at the Saint Joseph Hospital in the Liberian capital Monrovia where he worked with patients suffering from the haemorrhagic fever, according to the Spanish aid organisation that employs him, Juan Ciudad ONGD. The plane, hurriedly equipped with plastic isolation tents before being dispatched from Madrid, also brought back Spanish nun Juliana Bonoha Bohe, who had worked at the same hospital, the ministry said. She has not tested postive for Ebola but is nevertheless to be isolated for treatment. The Spanish priest and the nun were taken by ambulance to Madrid’s Carlos III Hospital, which is specialised in tropical diseases, according to an AFP photographer outside the hospital.

A Saudi national suspected to have the deadly Ebola virus died Wednesday in an isolation ward of a hospital in Jeddah, said the Saudi Health Ministry. The 40-year-old man fell ill after he arrived on Sunday from Sierra Leone and was admitted in a hospital in Jeddah after showing symptoms of the viral hemorrhagic fever. Sierra Leone is one of West African countries were an Ebola outbreak was recorded. The patient’s cause of dead is yet to be determined as his samples are being tested in an international reference lab on the advice of the World Health Organization. The patient had been tested negative for dengue hemorrhagic fever. The health ministry said there are several kinds of viral hemorrhagic fevers have been detected in Saudi Arabia, but no case of the fatal Ebola has ever been found in the country so far. In April, the Saudi government stopped the issuances of visas to Muslim pilgrims from the Ebola-affected countries, a move to avoid the spread of the disease during the hajj pilgrimage, which will be attended by millions of people from around the world.

Heightened concern about the Ebola virus has led to alarms being raised at three hospitals in New York City. But so far, no Ebola cases have turned up. The latest episode involved a man who had recently been to West Africa, and who went to the emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan late Sunday with a high fever and gastrointestinal problems, the hospital reported on Monday. He is being kept in isolation at the hospital while tests are being done for Ebola, a deadly disease, but also for other illnesses that could have caused his symptoms. But the city’s health department issued a statement on Monday saying that after consulting with Mount Sinai and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, “the health department has concluded that the patient is unlikely to have Ebola. Specimens are being tested for common causes of illness and to definitively exclude Ebola. Testing results will be made available by C.D.C. as soon as they are available.” At NYU Langone Medical Center last week, a patient who went to the emergency room with a fever and who mentioned a recent visit to West Africa was given a mask and moved to a secluded area, said Dr. Michael Phillips, the hospital’s director of Infection Prevention and Control. But further questioning revealed that the patient had not visited any of the affected countries, “so we stopped right there,” Dr. Phillips said.

Sierra Leone hunts Ebola patient kidnapped in Freetown. Sidi Yahya Tunis, a spokesperson for Sierra Leone’s ministry of health, said the King Harman Road Hospital was stormed by the Ebola patient’s family on Thursday. The BBC’s Umaru Fofona in Freetown said the woman, who is an apprentice hairdresser, is a resident of the densely populated area of Wellington in the east of the city. The Ebola cases in Sierra Leone are centred in the country’s eastern districts of Kenema and Kailahun, just over the border from the Guekedou region of Guinea where the outbreak started. Our reporter says there is increasing anger and confusion over the handling of the outbreak. Police say thousands of people have taken to the streets of Kenema to protest – thronging to the town’s hospital, which treats all Ebola cases in the district. The father of a nine-year-old boy has told the BBC that his son was shot and injured by police as they tried to put down the angry demonstration, in which he says his son was not involved. Our reporter says the police have not been able to confirm this as they say they are still busy with operational matters. Nurses at Kenema hospital went on strike for a day on Monday after three of their colleagues died of suspected Ebola. Earlier this week, it was announced that the doctor leading Sierra Leone’s fight against Ebola was being treated for the virus.

The deadly Ebola hemorrhagic fever may have reached Nigeria, local health officials say. A Liberian man in his 40s is currently being tested for the virus in the capital city of Lagos, which is home to 21 million people. The most recent Ebola outbreak has already killed 632 people in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since February. This would be the first case in Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa. Abdulsalami Nasidi, project director of the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, urged Nigerians to be proactive in stopping the disease, calling it a “time bomb,” according to a Thursday report in the Nigerian Tribune. Earlier this month, he told reporters that Nigeria was not prepared to fight the disease. The virus spreads through contact with blood or bodily fluids of infected people It’s been fatal for about 60 percent of infected patients during the recent outbreak. Sheik Umar Khan, one of the region’s top physicians who led the fight against Ebola, contracted the disease earlier this week. Nigeria ranked among the top five countries around the world in need of better health care systems by the Borgen Project, a nonprofit focused on poverty and hunger.

Liberia’s Health and Social Welfare Ministry (MOHSW) has confirmed a fresh outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the western Monrovia suburb of New Kru Town with seven cases reported. The Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bernice Dahn told a press conference Saturday that of the seven cases, six have been confirmed dead, with laboratory tests confirming four to be caused by Ebola. “The seven cases include an index case and six contacts connected to the index case,â€? Dr, Dahn said. She said the index case was a female who traveled from Kailahun District in eastern Sierra Leone where an outbreak of Ebola was recently reported. She is said to have settled in one of the communities in New Kru Town with family members, where she fell sick and later died. At the same time, the Chief Medical Officer has disclosed that there are reports of fresh cases of Ebola outbreak in Foya, Lofa County in northwestern Liberia which shares a common border with Guinea where the Ebola virus is reported to be on the rampage. The health ministry is meanwhile urging the general public to remain calm and go about their normal business as all is being done to curtail the spread of the disease by the government. Since the outbreak of the virus in Liberia from Guinea few months ago, the disease has so far claimed the lives of 17 people out of a total of 31 people who were reported to have been infected.

The 12-year-old girl was first admitted at the paediatric unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi with symptoms of fever and bleeding. Doctors have met over the patient and taken emergency steps to ensure she is quarantined. The results of the test will be known in a couple of days. The deadly flesh-eating haemorrhagic disease has already killed dozens of people in neighbouring Guinea. Cases have also been reported in Liberia and lately Mali. Over 70 people have died so far in Guinea alone since the outbreak begun a little over a month ago. There is no known cure or vaccine for the haemorrhagic fever. It is spread by close personal contact with people who are infected and kills between 25% and 90% of victims. Symptoms include internal and external bleeding, diarrhoea and vomiting.

An outbreak of hemorrhagic fever has killed at least 23 people in Guinea’s southeastern forest region since February when the first case was reported, health authorities in the West African nation said on Wednesday. At least 35 cases have been recorded by local health officials, said Sakoba Keita, the doctor in charge of the prevention of epidemics in Guinea’s Health Ministry. “Symptoms appear as diarrhea and vomiting, with a very high fever. Some cases showed relatively heavy bleeding,” Keita said. “We thought it was Lassa fever or another form of cholera but this disease seems to strike like lightning. We are looking at all possibilities, including Ebola, because bushmeat is consumed in that region and Guinea is in the Ebola belt,” he said. No cases of the highly contagious Ebola fever have ever been recorded in the country. Keita said most of the victims had been in contact with the deceased or had handled the bodies. He said those infected had been isolated and samples had been sent to Senegal and France for further tests. More than half of the mineral-rich nation’s 11.4 million people live on less than $1 a day and many lack access to basic medical facilities and qualified medical staff.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog. 1 Response to Dec 2018 Congo Ebola Outbreak 319 DEAD

  1. Norm Williams says:

I worked for 25 years as a supervisor of clean Rooms in the Pharmaceutical industry. We produced sterile injectable medications, and prided ourselves on never having a drug recall for Sterility problems. The Personal protective Atire we used was designed to keep the drug from becoming infected with bacteria from our bodies. This was in middle 1970’s and every inch. Our skin was covered . The use of Laminar Flow and Aseptic Techniques were Key to preventing cross contamination. This Whole Ebola episode has been nothing but one screw up after the other !
And going forward, I really don’t think anyone has learned anything from it, we had written procedures posted in the work area. We also reviewed a different key written Procedure each month. No one person could change a procedure, all changes no matter how minor had to be reviewed with clean room personal and at least two Supervisors. They were then changed and signed by all involved parties. ( that’s a key way of getting buy in and compliance of all procedures) One other thing we discovered over the years was our gloved hands poised the biggest source of contamination, so we designed a hands free pedal operated gloved hand sprayer with the pressure vessel containing 70 % IPA solution. That clean room personal would very frequently spray there gloves removing possible contaminants. We also found that if a small hole the size of a Quarter was inserted in the sleeves 2″ from the end of the sleeve of the sterile tyvek jumpsuits and the thumb of a gloved hand was inserted, then the second glove was put on each hand, you would never gave a problem with glove deprecation from the sleeve of the jumpsuit. There are so many resources in this great country , the Areo Space the Electronics , and Pharmaceuticle industries. All use clean rooms and allow zero cross contamination !!
