I met this home owner today at Toyota dealership who said she is asthmatic. She said there were two buyers who backed down citing proximity to the LABC drill site.
I have audio (not released yet) of her telling me that sometimes when she is outside, that she can smell the gas from that site.
She said she is a member of the LABC church and that she would consider speaking to the church leadership about continuing supporting the drilling on church property.
She was glad that I told her she could ask for a property reduction in her taxes owed citing proximity to drilling.
Our church leaders at the LEAST should ask for changes to our Gas Drilling Ordinance to…
- include ALL breathers as deserving of setback (make it greater than 1/2 mile) for starters)…
- also be made to have green completions include all flowback into closed, ventless, pressurized tanks….
- and during blowdowns of compressors, bleed down whats in the pipes to be directed into the storage tanks equipped with Vapor Recovery Systems so that these tanks do not 24/7 invisibly vent into our urban airshed.”
