Hi Kim,
I can’t speak for Askimet. I can only tell you what we discovered when you brought this to our attention. I have attached the screen catch of your specific comment. You’ll notice the first action at the bottom of the screen was “Askimet caught this comment as spam.”
Once you alerted us that your comments were coming through, we investigated, removed the spam label and approved the comment. That is shown in the action on the attached screen capture.
Additionally, when our vendor contacted Askimet about this issue, they responded with the following statement:

Hi,
Sorry for that – I believe it is fixed for you now. It won’t happen again.

Hi Kim,

As I mentioned, Akismet does not have any of your information, so if the arlingtontx.gov folks had to remove you from a list, that would be local to them.

Cheers,
Greg

UPDATE 12/2/14

Hi Kim,

Akismet doesn’t have any of your information and wouldn’t be classifying comments as spam. If you’re having trouble posting on blogs, I’d recommend contacting the site admins and ask what other spam countermeasures they may have in place.  As for a list, we wouldn’t be able to provide you with that sort of information.

Best,
Greg

Yes I comment on other sites, in fact anytime an article about fracking comes across my news media subscriptions, I comment.
Thank you for investigating, BTW some of the other commenters on that Christmas Tree article also comment a lot and yet they were not targeted…I’m not completely comfortable with a “best guess” in this case.

Kim,
Our designer is reaching out to the filter company that is used on our site. Their best guess is that people who are frequent commenters on multiple different sites can send a red flag to the filter company, Askimet, and then their comments are marked as spam. Do you comment on other sites, or only the City’s? This can help us figure out what happened.
In the meantime, we have asked that your email be removed from their filter spam list for our site. If you have problems in the future, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jay

No I try not to include any websites but noticed that one of the comments accepted over the Chesapeake Christmas Tree article referenced a website, so…keep digging and report back as to why I was singled out as SPAM, thanks.

Good morning Ms. Feil.
Thanks for reaching out. I have done some digging to see what’s happening to your comments, as three other individuals have commented on the Christmas tree story and I tested it myself and it worked fine.
It appears that starting on Nov. 18 your comments were going to the SPAM folder, which is why they wouldn’t show up for approval. I’ve reviewed those comments and they are approved and posted. I’m sorry for the delay. We will work with our website designers to see what the problem is.
One possible solution: the filter may have decided your comments are spam because you include a website? Once we know for sure, we’ll let you know.
Thanks and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Best,
Jay

I just tried to comment on the
But it did not show me the “your comment is awaiting moderation” message…so please post this for me on my behalf and use whatever means necessary but GET IT POSTED please, thanks.
And so I’ll attempt to comment…as I feel I’m currently being  censored so here goes in one attempt…..

“The tree..the tree..need it be?
The tree..the tree what it bought thee.
It bought thee plumes of smoke so dark that bellow up in fire offs.
It bought us pain and misery tradn’ life for anti fractivity.
No longer myself, tis where I find thee…I’m consumed and obsessed – cannot  find me.
Yea tho I know the fracking fight is right, this tree reminds me of our doomed plight.
As the tanks grow old and cancerous wells peter out, Arlington’s livability – more than doubt.”

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog. 1. thank you for your focused , continued efforts to get the word out about the dangers and negative , health impacts from nearby gas drilling near homes and schools…hope more people come forward to reveal what is happening and share their health issues…

  2. Excellent Ten Suggestions you list on this site for improving the presence of gas extraction/development in urban/residential areas …..I will copy them and share them…..I don’t understand why others don’t agree with these and implement them….

  3. Thanks Vera…i actuallt updated them… here are some other things the ordinance should have..https://barnettshalehell.wordpress.com/2014/11/08/responsible-drilling-defined/
