The Texasfishingforum had many quotes that jumped out at me…

1) about the west side being a high crime area,

2) the fish kill of 2010 and 2011, and the comment that

3) “…all the fertilizers from the **rich people lawns on the east side of the lake. that’s why there isn’t any good fishing on arlington”…

Note the homes on the east side of the lake have high end values compared to the Ft Worth side….

The two 2012 comments about something definitely wrong with the lake/skin & bones sick looking fish makes my skin curl that we source our drinking water from this lake…

Here is one more comment from a different guy…

In reading an article about the catfish in Lake Arlington in the, I made this comment……

“fish in Lake Arlington? R U kiddn” me?

While that is our reservoir for our drinkn’ water,

between the 100 + drilling laterals under the lake

and the nearby power plant (falln’ out into the lake as acid rain-like my song)

and compressor stationS, (and ammunitions plant)

mixn’ multiple emissions there in the air is not regulated

but can have synergistic effects

(aka the alleged cancer cluster in that area)

..happy drinking.”

And below is a picture that I took one cold morning…the desert heat effect and the cold steam effect gives one an idea of the volume of effluents that are released to fall out into our drinking water source to mix with the other drilling and compression nearby nasty activities….oh risk it all, risk it all, Arlington’s headed for the fall…

IMG_6515So whats behind that fracking privacy screening? Well here is a 2008 pic…

lake arl compress statin 2008Oh did I mention about all the drillsites on the Ft Worth side and how we had a spill in June of 2010 (from a Quicksilver work over project) where unknown amounts actually went into the lake?

FYI email string from ** Enchanted Estates Home Owners Association in response to my sending them this blog ….

I am the President of homeowner’s association for ELE.   I received your e-mail but am unsure what question you have for the board.  Please respond with your question so that either I can answer your question or present your comments to the board for discussion.

Urban Drilling devalues property and can cause health effects….the fish in Lake Arlington have been reported to be sickly….the polluting nearby industrial sites are not helping…in fact the list of contributors seems to be growing…
 1) Handley power plant
 2) Handley Compressor Station
 3) Lake Arlington Compressor Station
 4) former ammunition’s plant
 5) water treatment plant
 6) Ft Worth side and north side padsites of natural gas drilling
 7) east side overuse of fertilizers
 8) golf course herbicides
 9) DFW ozone nonattainment airshed/generalized acid rain
10) 2010 June padsite spill into the lake
11) rich people getting to put boats in the lake which can spill fuel
12) the added seismicity in the area now that fracking has taken hold in the Barnett Shale can damage gas well casings and sewer & water mains which can affect the lake
13) drawdown and drought
Denton passed a fracking ban and Arlington leaders need to take notice and help lead us to shut in the wells once they hit the hyperbolic decline curve bottom which is around 18 months after the wells go on line.
How can we reclaim this town and our lake to be free from industrial & recreational processes that can harm our drinking water?
Who can network to get a list of those people near Martin High School and Lake Arlington claiming an unusual high cancer rate so we can give this info to our state epidemiologist? Someone was positng signs asking to contact them if they had or know someone whose had cancer in this area…it wasn’t me..I live by fracking near the Cowboy stadium.
Thank you for responding and taking this email to your board.

I guess I need to prioritize my time for all the cancers in my neighborhood and so the ball is in your court to give the HOA board for Enchanted Estates this info. Here are your contacts below…good luck.

Hello Ms. Feil,
I am following up with you regarding a message you left with Dr. Heidi Bojes regarding a possible cancer cluster investigation. Dr. Bojes has made several attempts to correspond with you, but has not heard back from you. At this point, we will consider this inquiry closed, as we cannot proceed any further without additional information from you. If you still have concerns about this matter, please feel free to call or email me.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
