When something is environmentally friendLIER or LESS environmentally dangerous…we HAVE to worry…be very worried=a different set of issues….I keep thinking of the emphasis on LIER on the word “friendLIER”.
Note my remarks in (boldface)…
“ATK has been developing a new fracking system which is far less resource intensive and environmentally dangerous ( …#noconfidence) than current hydraulic fracturing methods….
Technology could solve the problems associated with fracking,…(what about surface equipment/truck related emissions in neighborhoods?)
…ATK’s new system could make the process less toxic to the subterranean ecosystem and to residents who live near fracking operations…(yep us pesky, poisoned, residents are shaking things up aren’t we?)…
…It replaces the huge demand of water (yep fresh water is becoming more expensive & increasingly rare) with a solid propellant (sounds flammable & explosive) that is dropped into the well and is then detonated (detonated?..yep sounds bout right) creating a buildup of gases which creates the pressure needed to break the rock.
Moore said the new process is quicker (you mean short cut?) and allows the pressure to be applied to the desired area (I thought you just dropped it into the well?) as opposed to water which will flow where it wants to. (meaning the way we do it now you cannot control where the water goes?)
“We can crack the rock wherever we want to,” said Moore. (meaning the way we do it now you cannot control where the detonations go?)
The new system also uses a fraction of the water (fraction is still a lot) and chemicals (fraction is still a lot) compared to traditional fracking (thus the reason you call it eco friendly?) and produces only a trivial amount of flowback.” (yep that pesky flowback is a toxic waste seismicity causing problem now isn’t it?)
Marketwatch reports of ATK’s fourth quarter results (they recently purchased Bushnell-an ammunitions company)
“risks inherent in the development and manufacture of advanced technology;
risks associated with compliance and diversification into new markets,
…the outcome of contingencies, including litigation and environmental remediation…”
Where did I acquire this info? I subscribe to shalestuff.com, but the email I just received shows that this site is going to go away if someone else doesn’t take it over…
