Pondering two deaths in Ponder near fracking

Update 4/21/2015 Joel responded to my question “did they get compensation for their water being ruined?”

they had to deliver them drinking water until they both passed. I don’t know what the new arrangement is.

Sent from Fremont, NE

Last August in 2014 in a Denton Record Chronicle article called “Alarming Find” that reported high arsenic levels in private water wells near fracking. I became acquainted with a commenter named Joel Fuhr who used to live in the area, but now resides in Colorado.

Here is how our conversation went publicly and then privately on Facebook…..

Through a casual phone conversation with a TCEQ rep, they mentioned that just the surface equipment shaking the ground has seen higher turbidity and then later it settles back down…that surface equipment also is what has been claimed to have cracked a business’ foundation completely in half near the Lynn Smith drill site in Pantego. The business owner was stricken in her parking lot during flowback and had to have the EMT’s assist her…she was vomiting and her blood pressure soared due to strong odors/gasses whatever it was they called it stale water….

the house I mentioned is approximately 2 miles north of ponder. it is three or four miles south of 380. there is a turn off to a large old time story house just south of them. their driveway has three or four houses on it. they are in a like red brick home. the reason why I have to tell you all this is because both of them have passed away. I’m in Nebraska and they are dead so no one is going to email. Janet died of hepatitis and Joseph of diabetes Both too young.

Is worth a Google to find the address and see if they are on the list. If not they have the example you are looking for in ruined well water.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
