update check out this frackquake creepy crib crash filmed on 12/29/15
I was so sure this was Oklahoma footage from their rash of frackquakes, but this video turned out to be wind related in Calgary Alberta. But keep reading to get to the punch line video…snicker snicker.
(I boldfaced for emphasis)
On 4/13/15, the New Yorker reported of a 2013 conversation...“We had two hundred and twenty-two earthquakes reported as felt that year, and I said something should be done, and the O.C.C. basically said to me, ‘Go away, what’s your problem, that’s no big deal, and there’s no way you can link earthquakes to disposal wells, you’re just crazy.’
The O.C.C.’s January 2015 statement (albeit two years later) concerns a “TRAFFIC LIGHT” NEW DIRECTIVES system notice. The post on their website on 3/25/15 states that they have until April 18, 2015 to prove to the OGCD that they are not disposing below the Arbuckle Formation….the frackers/operators were mailed this letter on 3/18/2015.
“The “traffic light” system was first put in place in 2013 in response to the concerns over the possibility of earthquake activity being caused by oil and gas wastewater disposal wells in Oklahoma. It has been in a state of constant evolution since then, as new data becomes available.
Other elements of the traffic light system include:
The “yellow light” permitting program that requires seismicity review for any proposed disposal well and requires special permitting based on seismicity concerns for any well:
proposed within three miles of a stressed fault, even in the absence of seismicity
proposed within ten kilometers of an earthquake “swarm” or magnitude 4.0 event
Rules increasing from monthly to daily the required recording of well pressure and volume from all Arbuckle wells in the state
Rules requiring Mechanical Integrity Tests for wells disposing of volumes of 20,000 barrels a day or more have increased from once every five years to every year, or more often if so directed by the Commission
Full review of disposal well operations in an Area of Interest None of these elements should in any way be viewed as a final step. The traffic light system will continue to evolve.”
…or you can play Pong at the traffic light while you wait for the next quake…
….its all good…isn’t it?
…meanwhile here is a “buy in” opportunity to drill some more in the sweet sad state of OklaBOUNCYhoma
