Barton & Veasey voted to Rubber Stamp American LNG Export Terminals / Dewitt huge ass flare

Here is the voting roster for HR 6 approved back in June of 2014. This bill is called  “Domestic Prosperity & Global Freedom Act” which calls for an immediate approval of all pending LNG export applications.

Originally we flapped our lips to sanction Russia economically with a long-term goal to compete with them in gas exports…the immediate effect is laughable in that “no amount of increase in US exports can begin to replace such large volumes. Russian exports of NG are more than twice the combined capacity of Depart Of Energy approved US LNG exports projects so far.”

Recently a conversation came up about “WHERE” is the best place to store our abundant natural gas….well obviously based on how our representatives votedthat place ISN’T in the ground for future generations’ consideration.

And that place ISN’T in US storage facilities (we lack the space for our gluttony and we over drilled for gas all over America)…see this recently posted flaring video in south Texas….

Here is a story where wasted gas from flaring is occurring in Colorado too.

So HR 6 puts to work our over drilled gas supplies by exporting it overseas meaning we’d increase our approved-for-export volumes by FOUR TIMES (volume of 9.27 Bcf/d to 35.86 Bcf/d) without further public participation or consideration of the risk to:

  • risk to higher NG prices,
  • security of US NG supplies, or

So for us here in Arlington, frackland Texas-that could mean a resurgence of fracking activities in our back yards.

Re-elect your representatives more wisely next time ya’ll.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
