Now that we are getting away from coal?…its historic pollution will be around to continue haunt us especially with all the crazy flooding these days…relating this dino endeavor to fracking…..we have to look forward to all the nasty contents of those injection wells from fracking to also be yet another water contamination risk waiting to happen.
8/5/2015 Durango Colorado: an estimated 1 million-gallon accidental spill in the Animas River was triggered during an EPA investigation of a slow but steady leak from the Gold King Mine near Silverton.
8/7/15 “Toxic sludge that spilled out of open pit coal mines during 10 days of heavy rains may have seriously contaminated farmland, rivers and coastal areas in northern Vietnam.”
7/30/15 “Rivers of slurry also destroyed and damaged homes homes in populated areas of the province, according to the UN. After a dam broke on 30 July, sludge flowed into the city of Cam Pha, where some residents waded into the polluted waters to collect coal.”
