UPDATE March 1 2017: Mr Rainwater’s money is the gift that just keeps on giving… toxic risks….as now Bluestone (financed by Rainwater co) now owns the drill sites next to our drinking water source near Lake Arlington AND want to put a disposal well there too!
UPDATE January 25, 2016: Dallas News reported that a private equity firm, Natural Gas Partners, is backing the transaction where Bluestone Natural Resources II has acquired the US Quicksilver assets at a recent bankruptcy auction for $245 million. Mr Richard Rainwater was the founder of Natural Gas Partners and so Mr Rainwater’s ripples of his life goes on to support this unsustainable industry causing us to delay getting on renewables.
FYI Google Lake Arlington (my drinking water reservoir) and see some of the drill sites precariously close to the lake’s edge on the Ft Worth side are/were Quicksilver sites…#hopeTHEYshutTHEMinPermanently!
—– end update——-
I blog bout’ fracking and investigate some Tarrant County Barnett Shale early deaths, but the only connection there of Mr Rainwater was Fortune’s report on his fight for life article ... “To snatch up drilling assets at panic-sale prices and hand them to the oil patch’s most astute operator”.
I was so touched to learn of his concern about “the survivability of mankind.” And so I set out to find out if he lived by any gas wells (yes some rich people do live by those too)….I did find a property near a Golf Course bearing his last name on the tad records and wondered if he lived there….
And in New York, Mr Rainwater was said to be a member of the Deepdale Golf Club, so it would stand to reason that he might have lived near the one in FT Worth in the above picture? NOPE cause this link here shows his home to be….
The article said that“He founded or co-founded firms including ENSCO International Incorporated, an oil field service and offshore drilling company in 1986…” so he did have his hand in the gas/oil patch…anyways…….when you back out on the map…YEP he DID live by a golf course if this internet site is right…
A quick internet search on what type of pollution/poison may have exposed him (besides our fracked up airshed?) and I found this link from Uruguay…Pesticides and Parkinsonism: Is There a Link Between Environmental Toxins and Neurodegenerative Disorders?
Alan H. Lockwood, MD.
Here are some quotes…“Nevertheless, the weight of the evidence gathered a decade ago suggests strongly that exposure to industrial chemicals, particularly pesticides, is a significant risk factor for the development of PD (Parkinsons)…We are awash in a sea of chemicals. According to the EPA, 4.5 billion pounds of pesticides are used in the US each year. We use 77 million pounds of organophosphates: 60 million pounds are used in agriculture and 17 million pounds are used in homes, on lawns and golf courses, and for other non-agricultural purposes”.
Mr Rainwater founded/funded… The Tau Consortium in 2010 to find a cure for his disease. “The Rainwater Charitable Foundation brought together a group of physicians and scientists to work in a precision medicine space to advance research into progressive supranuclear palsy…”.
Another PSP internet site asked if PSP could be caused by toxins?
“There is evidence that chemicals in the environment or diet may contribute to the cause of PSP. Surveys of PSP patients have hinted at a predilection for rural living and, on average, lesser educational attainment in people with PSP. This suggests that part of the cause of PSP is certain occupational factors exposing people to different chemicals than are encountered by non-rural people or those with more sedentary, office-bound occupations. One important clue to a possible dietary factor in the cause of PSP comes from the island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. People there are far more likely to develop PSP and other “atypical parkinsonisms” than are people elsewhere. A questionnaire survey on Guadeloupe revealed that people with PSP-like illnesses there were more likely than others to have consumed two native fruits called “sweetsop” and “soursop.” These fruits have since been shown to harbor toxins (annonacin) that when given to laboratory rats cause damage to the brain very similar to human PSP. We don’t yet know what, if any, foods in the Western diet contain similar toxins”.

In retrospect, affluent people searching for the truth in their afflictions should’ve try to prevent such exposures and use the Precautionary Principle (don’t wait on government agencies to protect you) and try to help mankind disband chemicals near life forms…yes this wouldn’t be good financial news for the natural gas industry (a feedstock for chemicals production)….but then again I do blog about taking down that harmful fracking industry and he did breathe our DFW Barnett Shale Hell air.
