NERVE GAS FROM CARS (and frack sites) WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS?

Catalytic converter emissions from my car (and my neighborhood frack site?) ARE NOT my neurotoxins of choice!

Dr Falco says burning exhaust in a gasoline powered vehicle’s catalytic converter creates additional benzene. But does the same “added benzene” problem happen at our drill sites equipped with lift compressors if burning exhaust using natural gas to power the catalytic converter?

Regarding the Urban Drilling fracking front, I’ve been wanting to ensure our lift compressors at the natural gas padsites in Arlington Gasland Texas have catalytic converters (like our cars are mandated to have).  But careful what you wish for?….

NERVE GAS FROM CARS WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

Surely since 1994 this problem has been addressed and fixed?  I cannot find any more recent studies on this…can you? Read these two excerpts and be shocked…
—————————-

“My little son caught a large number of houseflies alive. We held one half of these flies in a net approximately 50 centimetres [approx. 20 inches] behind the exhaust of quite an old car. The flies were rather groggy, but they survived. The other half was held behind a cat. exhaust. All of them were dead after 110 seconds, it being noticeable that they died virtually all at once.”

“…I wanted to make people aware of the problems associated with benzene intoxication through unleaded catalytic converter gas. What has become of this? There is still too much benzene in the ‘cat. gas’. This carcinogenic benzene which is easily soluble in fat, has even been detected in candy bars sold at gas stations.”

—————————

If catalytic convertors still have this “problem’, this is yet another reason to…..

  1. GET ON ELECTRIC VEHICLES YA’LL and to
  2. BAN FRACKING OR LEAST BAN CATALYTIC CONVERTORS AT THE DRILL SITES
  3. Make Arlington General Motors force Chesapeake to explain why they understated their Benzene emissions for their padsite by 75% (they have four lift compressors).

Subject: Catalytic converters add Benzene? Someone please advise…cars+drillsites air emission overload at GM-Entertainment District this isn’t good
Last month Chesapeake had to resubmit their gaswell padsite air permit on GM’s campus…they underreported their benzene by 75% (since 2012) ….anybody have any updated information as to if catalytic converters worsen benzene emissions? NERVE GAS FROM CARS (and frack sites?) WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
