Subject: when you speak in Arlington coming up….
Dr Navarro, below I hear you will be speaking in Arlington on October 20th, please comment on this as we are an Urban Drilling town for Natural Gas…..Within days of the LABC gaswell loss of control evacuation event, our city officials presented a plan to allow up to 7-9 more NEW padsites of gaswells and up to 900 more gaswells altogether which includes the existing 54 padsites (if the economics allow a complete build out of Urban Drilling here in Arlington)…sure the money is beneficial, but Liveability and Tourism is JOB 1 for Arlington and they R on fracktrack to continue to fail us in that department. Sure HB40 says no one can ban future fracking in the state of Texas BUT the RRC complaints internet page gives the cities full permission to regulate Nuisance Odors. But currently Arlington’s ordinance only asks them to use industry standards that are reasonable which equates to cheap, rural cost cutting methods. We must MANDATE and carry OUT the search to enforce them to use Best Available Control Technologies to minimize odors & particulates coming off these gaswells sites. The GM plant with its gas wells blow to our Entertainment District…multiple, cumulative emissions are not regulated and can be synergistically poisoning people…but that slow bullet will never see the judgement of a court and so like the decades old denial of cigarettes causing cancer, Arlington too may be decades away from admitting people should not be co-existing near mining activities..too late by then and so take the money and run…the city into unliveable oblivion.

About Kim Triolo Feil

Since TX Statute 253.005 forbids drilling in heavily settled municipalities, I unsuccessfully ran for City Council Seat to try to enforce this. Since Urban Drilling, our drinking water has almost tripled for TTHM's. Before moving to Arlington in 1990, I lived in Norco’s “cancer alley”, a refinery town. It was only after Urban Drilling in Arlington did I start having health effects. After our drill site was established closest to my home, the chronic nosebleeds started. I know there are more canaries here in Arlington having reactions to our industrialized airshed (we have 55-60 padsites of gas wells). Come forward and report to me those having health issues especially if you live to the north/northwest of a drill site so I can map your health effects on this blog.
