Rain Happens – Installed Drains Allowed at Toxic Arlington Urban Drilling Pad Sites

At our busiest intersection in Arlington, the corner of Collins and Division what connects our Entertainment District to to our Downtown area is a lovely drill site tucked away behind a fence…that no one wants to develop the frontage on (that lost $12 million in surface taxable value in a five year period). By chance I captured this Google Earth image and reported it as a possible spill. (*see below correspondence from AFD/city staff). Yes that is hotel less than 100 feet away.The ATT Cowboys Stadium is 2,600 feet away-even closer for tailgaters.I

I’m one of those residents who are aware of the risks in living by a drill site. Above I show where I live in proximity (which is about 1,700 feet to the west). Click here to see the last flood we had in June of 2014. Note back then how the drill site looked when Johnson Creek was rushing over the street near this drill site. But for this blog, lets concentrate on if this Google Earth time shot is of a spill or just rain (see below pics of rainwater on the roof and on Division street) water mixed with frack on crack (learn about colloids here).Going west on Division, I will now take you on a frack tour after a rainstorm to see how the other drill sites held their effluent waters that go into our storm drainage ditches without any environmental testing..yep!See the storm drain vent in the above pic near that fence?Oh look below at the pricey Oakridge private school…spreading the luv to rich kids..OK R U ready to see whats on the south side of Division/Lancaster by our drinking water reservoir called Lake Arlington? We will first look at the compressor stations and then travel on the west side (the Ft Worth) side of the lake where some five summers ago Quick Silver spilled their produced water into our drinking water source…yep it happened click here for the details.Ewe…whats coming off those tanks? Above is the Lake Arlington Baptist Church soccer field where the children played within the week following that 1/8 mile LABC evacuation…Another site we will visit today in the below picture is back near where this blog started…at a drill site near our Entertainment District. Only this one is on the General Motors site where no one monitors the multiple, cumulative effect of mixing effluents. This frack on crack unknown concoction is probably synergistically poisoning our visitors and those northward at the Viridian depending on the meteorological conditions that affect where the fallout occurs.Above pic is the GM onsite Chesapeake padsite(s).…note in the above GM pic the storm drain that goes into Johnson Creek? And below is the triangle showing the two drill sites that strangle our longterm business model in being the entertainment mecca of the metroplex…you cannot mix industry with family friendly….but our local government said hell yeah we can…and they did…and the blood money earned on gas leases (one hundred million dollars) in the Tomorrow Fund cannot fix the cancer cluster risks we face tomorrow…how appropriate they named it that.There is another drill site east of 360 flanking of Six Flags…..see below Note that every day numerous trucks come to evacuate the tanks so they don’t overflow. The emissions from off loading are real…those are called exposure events of BTEX/VOC’s which worsen ozone readings-ozone frys our lungs. Don’t count on our city to invest any of those Tomorrow Funds for FLIR camera to show you those storage tank and truck off loading emission events or those compressor blow down / maintenance events..nope they don’t want you to know. But Texas Sharon went to one of our south east drill sites and took this footage…click here.Yes the ATT Stadium/Truman Chesapeake drill site is close to our Downtown area near UTA…I didn’t bother to break your heart to show you the on campus Carrizo-now Enervest drill site...google that for yourself…no point in showing you that one cause it is on state land and therefore, our city staff does not inspect that one.

So whether that fluid is rain water mixed with drill site Colloids…none of it should be going into our storm drains….that has to change…what will you readers do to help change this?

Engine 1 visited the Truman site and found no issues. There was a small area of water in one corner that was rain water.

Move away and stop using any products from drilling products. Jump on your bicycle. Burn a candle. But, no, you like turning on your lights don’t you and firing up that computer of yours. As for Viridian. What can I say. Who would want to live next to already existing dump and cement factory. Don’t buy a house next to those places. Be a smart consumer and let the developers regret trying to develop that land. Trucks off loading tanks? Yea. Lots of gas being produced at those wells. I guess you would rather we now down and be controlled by the Middle East and not produce our own energy. No, don’t say clean energy either because I’ve seen arguments against even windmills killing all the birds. No one is ever happy. Oh, don’t forget about the cows farting over at the Masionic home. You need to get rid of them also cos they are polluting the air. This is a free country. We need to produce our energy. It is amazing all the neighbors complain about these rigs but all the workers are doing just fine…so I say, just like if a big Walmart opened in your back yard and you didn’t like it. Move. You don’t like energy production just stop using it. Make some candles.
